Most of the time I just want to use <code>TextEdit</code> to write some temporary notes, and I want it as a plain text, so this is annoying for me

Luckily we can fix it, we just need to open <code>Terminal</code> app
<pre><code class="lang-bash">defaults write com.apple.TextEdit NSShowAppCentricOpenPanelInsteadOfUntitledFile -bool false
defaults write com.apple.TextEdit RichText -bool false 
killall TextEdit
</code></pre>
Next time you open <code>TextEdit</code> you will see only this, which was exactly what I wanted
